Sarah's home hexie kit

I finally took some pictures of my home hexie kit, as opposed to my work hexie kit from last week.

Please hop on over to my personal blog to see more of my home hexie kit and one of my snoopervisers =^..^=

Sarah's travel hexie kit

Through lack of planning on my part, I forgot to take photos of my stay at home hexie kit. I'll have to share that another day...

This is my travel kit, which basically stays at my work desk. I do bring it home on the weekend to restock.

The small zipper bag generally holds the smaller items (extra mini binder clips, Thread Heaven, bobbin of thread, scissors, etc) and fits in the bigger bag which also holds my thread dome (God's gift to hand work!) and bits for three projects: Value Proposition (bottom), Twisted Hexies (middle) and POTC sashing (right). I don't like to be caught without anything to work on!

My Hexi / Hawaiian Applique Kit

This is my hand sewing kit that has hexies and a Hawaiian appliqué block ready for those small moments to hand stitch.

This is what I use for EPP Hexies.

This is the Hawaiian needle turn appliqué I am working on.

I carry this bag with me everywhere...to work, on trips, around the house....

Hexagon Sewing Kit

Someone suggested that those of us who play with hexagons should post what our hexagon sewing kits are like. I'm sorry to tell you, mine is not that exciting! Some I've seen have hundreds of little petals all basted and ready to become flowers. Not mine.

Here's the outside - a lovely cookie tin:

And nothing mysterious inside:

The red ones waiting there are chickens!

If you post about your hex kit, please use the label hex kits in addition to your name. Thanks!

What a nice weekend

It was such a lovely weekend. For once, no one had an activity they needed to be at - I even spent an entire day in my pajama's! Heaven! I spent most of the weekend in a rocking chair on my porch working on sewing flowers. I didn't keep track of my numbers, but here are a few pictures of the progress.

Thea wanted to pose with the flowers. I have more somewhere, but the little miss in the picture likes to steal them (her current favorite activity is to use the flowers as her "recipes" when she cooks at her play kitchen).

And making headway on the fabric in my travel bag.

Speaking of travel bags. When I started thinking about hexagons, I read everything I could find on the internet (including this entire blog - everyone here is such an inspiration!) and I especially loved looking at everyone's hexie kits. If you have a hexagon kit, would you be willing to share?
