Travelling Hexies

I haven't posted in a while because I am in the process of moving.  And by process I mean I am living with my in-laws until my townhouse is ready!!

Anyway that's another story...

I am still working on my flower hexies.  These are 3 I have completed in the car on holiday road trips.   (I even took the picture in the car - on the dashboard!) I will update later how many blocks I actually have done when I unpack my house after Jan 30.

I still love EPP...even if I haven't posted.

My September hexies

I have two sizes of La Passion. La Petite Passion has got 1/4" hexies, and this is how it looks like right now.

My green La Passion has passed 2700 hexies (1/2"), and you may see the size when I put it on the car.

I've done star number 15 and 16 for my star quilt. I don't know how big I will make this, but I'll go on with two stars every month for a while.

Six new blocks for both my half hexagon quilts are joined too.

Then I managed to sew two new flowers for my green flower garden.

I even found an old project, and have to do some few flowers before I can finish it. Hope to show you more next month.

Welcome to my blog to follow the progress on these project as the weeks go by.

My August hexies

So this is how my projects grew last month. First I joined another hundred hexies for my La Passion, and now it has got 2600 of them. You can follow it from the start here.

As you may remember I started a new La Passion with 1/4" hexies in red. This is how it looks like at the end of August.

I have another mini, and I made two new flowers for that one.

Then I have the stars, and number 13 and 14 are blue.

At last I have my two half hexagon projects. Both of them have got six new blocks.

And as always you can read more about all of these projects on my blog. Welcome!

My June hexies

A bit late, this is a report on my hexies made in June.

This month I managed to sew four stars.

My La Passion passed 2400 hexagons, and I'm so happy with this. Just now we are more that 250 persons from around the world sewing Grit's pattern.

Six more butterflies joined the others on this half hexie quilt.

This miniquilt is a summer work, and it got four new flowers in June. The hexagons are 1/4", really tiny.

You can always find more about these hexie projects on my blog.

81 flowers done!

I missed last weeks check in, but I am still here! I now have 81 flowers done and it feels really good to lay them out and play around a little bit.

Plugging along

Time for my check in! I managed to sew 8 more flowers this week, for a total of 52. I keep looking at completed (or in progress) quilt tops on flickr and I am itching to start putting the flowers together. I know that I need to wait until my flowers are done though, since my design idea is very "go-with-the-flow" and if I start sewing flowers together now, the quilt won't be balanced.  I am going to start sounding like Dori from Finding Nemo soon... "Just keep sewing, just keep sewing".

My hexagon color choices were starting to run low, and making the flowers wasn't actually freeing up enough hexagon papers for me to really get a stash of hexagons going again. Last night I cut a little over 300 papers, so I am ready to go again.

I used whatever 12x12 card stock I had on hand, so these papers are colorful ones. :)

What a nice weekend

It was such a lovely weekend. For once, no one had an activity they needed to be at - I even spent an entire day in my pajama's! Heaven! I spent most of the weekend in a rocking chair on my porch working on sewing flowers. I didn't keep track of my numbers, but here are a few pictures of the progress.

Thea wanted to pose with the flowers. I have more somewhere, but the little miss in the picture likes to steal them (her current favorite activity is to use the flowers as her "recipes" when she cooks at her play kitchen).

And making headway on the fabric in my travel bag.

Speaking of travel bags. When I started thinking about hexagons, I read everything I could find on the internet (including this entire blog - everyone here is such an inspiration!) and I especially loved looking at everyone's hexie kits. If you have a hexagon kit, would you be willing to share?
